Description

This postcard features the home of Bowling Green, one of Abraham Lincoln's close friends in the village of New Salem, Illinois, in the 1830s. There is an oval inset in the top right corner of the image with a bearded portrait of President Abraham Lincoln in it. The image caption is "Lincolns Home 1835." Wrapped around two sides of the image is a quotation from Rev. Charles Chiniquay titled "Lincoln's Warning." The reverse has the recipient's address handwritten in black ink.
