Description
This postcard features a view of the living room in the reconstructed Rutledge Tavern in New Salem State Park near Petersburg, Illinois. A fireplace is on the wall to the viewer's right. A corner cabinet, a table, and a dresser sit on either side of the doorway leading to a bedroom area. The caption is printed along the bottom edge. The number D-221 is printed near the lower right corner. The postcard reverse is divided vertically with the right side labeled "Address." Abraham Lincoln lived in the original village of New Salem from 1831 to 1837 and boarded part of the time at the Rutledge Tavern.
