Description

This sepia-toned postcard features a half-length portrait of President Abraham Lincoln along with a quotation from his letter to Horace Greeley, August 22, 1862. The portrait is reproduced from a photograph taken of President Lincoln on January 8, 1864, in Washington, D. C. A small illustration of a log cabin is in the upper right corner. A small illustration of the White House is in the lower right corner with the quotation printed between the illustrations. The postcard reverse is divided. An advertisement for books published by The Century Co. is printed on the left side. The right side is addressed to The Century Co. in New York.
