Description

This color postcard features the main dining room in the Georgian revival mansion on the 412-acre estate at Manchester, Vermont, named Hildene, originally belonging to Robert Todd Lincoln, the oldest son of President Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln descendants lived there until Peggy Lincoln passed away in 1975. The mansion contains most of the original furnishings and numerous Lincoln family mementoes. The postcard reverse is divided. Narrative text is printed on the left side. "VT 239" is printed in the upper left corner. The number 160391 is printed along the bottom edge near the middle.
