Description

This postcard features a reproduction of a lithograph depicting the aftermath of the evacuation of the citizens of Richmond, Virginia, in April of 1865 near the end of the United States Civil War. The postcard image was copyrighted in 1915 by the First National Bank located in Richmond. The caption is printed in the lower margin. The postcard reverse is divided with narrative text printed on the left side. Also on the left is a handwritten note in blue ink from A. B. Upshur of Richmond, Virginia, to Louis A.
