Description

This tinted postcard consists of two images. The top is an exterior view of the replica of the original one-room cabin in which Abraham Lincoln was born. The second image is an interior view of the reproduction cabin. A variety of Abraham Lincoln prints and engravings are displayed on the wall around the fireplace as well as on the other walls. This replica cabin was built in Milton, Massachusetts, at the request of Mary Bowditch Forbes. The cornerstone was laid on November 19, 1923. The postcard reverse is divided and has narrative text printed on the left side. A handwritten note in black ink from Mary B. Forbes of Milton, Massachusetts, to Mr. Oldroyd is on the right side.
