Description

This postcard was an advertisement for the 1939 publication of the book titled "The Man Who Killed Lincoln" by Philip Van Doren Stern. The postcard includes photographs of John Wilkes Booth's co-conspirators (left to right) Lewis Powell (murderous giant), George Atzerodt (coward), John Surratt (Confederate spy), and David Herold (druggist's clerk). Text below states "Read about them in "The Man Who Killed Lincoln" to be published on January 31, by Random House. The postcard reverse is undivided. It is addressed in blue ink to Beverly W.
