Description

This postcard features a photograph of President Abraham Lincoln originally taken of him on November 8, 1863, in Washington, D. C. Below the portrait and the caption is a paragraph on prohibition erroneously attributed to Abraham Lincoln. Handwritten notes above the portrait and below the quotation read as follows: "Lincoln--voted against prohibition and local options: Dec. 26, 1834--against local option; Dec. 19, 1840--against prohibition. Last time I saw this quotation was in The Balt. Sun--Jan. 1922." Also, the date of Lincoln's death is incorrectly printed. A line was drawn through it in black ink and "April 15, 1865," is written above. The postcard reverse is undivided.
