Description

This postcard features a reproduction of the original painting of President Abraham Lincoln done by artist William E. Marshall in 1864. President Lincoln is depicted facing slightly toward the viewer's right surrounded by a pale green decorative frame. The original painting is in the collection of the New-York Historical Society in New York City. The postcard reverse is undivided. The caption is printed along the top edge near the middle. A handwritten note in blue ink humorously signed "A. Lincoln" addressed to Mrs. Higgins and Miss Stemen of the Lincoln National Life Foundation in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
