This postcard features a reproduction of the William E. Marshall engraving of President Abraham Lincoln published in 1866. The quotation "I go for all sharing the privileges of the government who assist in bearing its burdens.....by no means excluding women." printed below the image is from an editorial written by Lincoln in 1836 when he was a candidate for the Illinois legislature.
