Description

This postcard features a right-profile portrait of President Abraham Lincoln done from a photograph of Lincoln taken on February 9, 1864, in Washington, D. C. The portrait is printed on the left half of the postcard. Handwritten in black ink on the right side is "True Southerner--Kentucky born; Adopted Son of Illinois. From cabin-home to White House led; From cradle rude to martyr's grave." The reverse is blank but has a handwritten inscription in black ink reading "Original copy to my friend Bangs, 11/11/18."
