Description

This tinted postcard features an illustration of a young Abraham Lincoln reclined on the floor in front of the fireplace with an open book beside him and a document in his hands. Printed in the upper left corner is a poem about the life of President Abraham Lincoln by Mary Eyre Wintersmith Robertson which was copyrighted in 1915. Below the poem is a circular inset with an illustration of the log cabin in which Abraham Lincoln was born in 1809. The caption is printed along the lower edge of the image. All of the above are surrounded by a white border. The postcard reverse is divided. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
