Description

This color postcard features a view of the bronze statue of President Abraham Lincoln done by sculptor Clyde DuVernet Hunt in 1928 and located in Bennington, Vermont. Cast in bronze, the statue is titled "The American Spirit" and includes three figures: President Lincoln representing Charity, the woman representing Faith, and the nude boy representing Hope. Lincoln is depicted in his morning coat, shawl, and stovepipe hat with a hand resting on both the boy's and the woman's head. The postcard reverse is divided and has narrative text printed on the left side. The number 33251 is printed along the bottom edge near the middle.
