Description

This postcard features the two-story home of the Abraham Lincoln family in Springfield, Illinois, in the center. Narrative text printed on a gold-colored background is straight above the house. A bronze medallion with a right-profile portrait of President Lincoln is at the bottom left corner of the narrative text. A photograph of the Lincoln monument located in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield, is in the lower right corner of the postcard. Text in a script font to the left of the Monument states that the Illinois Watch Company named a watch after Lincoln. The postcard reverse is divided with the left side labeled "This space for writing messages." Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
