This tinted postcard features on an oval background a head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln done from a photograph taken of him on November 8, 1863, in Washington, D. C., ten days before he traveled to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to give his address at the dedication ceremony for the National Cemetery there. The caption is printed below the image.
