Description

This gelatin silver print postcard features a view the Lincoln Memorial statue of President Abraham Lincoln, done by sculptor Daniel Chester French, as seen looking between two columns. Located in Washington, D. C., President Lincoln is depicted seated in a large stately chair with a large United States flag draped over the back of the chair. Each arm is resting on the chair. His head is tilted slightly downward as if deep in thought. The statue rests on a ten-foot high pedestal. A white border surrounds the image with the caption and the number 2386 printed in the lower margin. The postcard reverse is divided.
