Description

This color postcard features a distant view of the Lincoln Speech Memorial located in Gettysburg National Military Park in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The memorial consists of a bust of President Abraham Lincoln done by sculptor Henry K. Bush-Brown placed on a tall pedestal. Bronze plaques, one on each side of the bust, display the texts of the letter from Judge David Wills inviting President Lincoln to speak at the dedication ceremony for the Soldiers National Cemetery on November 19, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and of President Lincoln's speech. The postcard reverse is divided. Narrative text is printed on the left side. The number C7106 is printed in the stamp placement block.
