Description

This postcard is a photograph of the bronze statue of 21-year-old Abraham Lincoln which is part of the Abraham Lincoln Trail Monument on the banks of the Wabash River at Vincennes, Indiana. Done by sculptor Nellie V. Walker, the statue stands in front of the limestone bas relief depicting the Thomas Lincoln family with an ox-drawn car traveling from their Indiana home to Illinois in March of 1830. The postcard reverse is divided. A stamp in red ink reading "Photo by Robert C. Finnegan" is at the middle along the bottom edge. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
