Description

This postcard is a photograph of the bronze tablet marking the site of the cabin where Nancy Hanks, Lincoln's mother, was born in 1782. The marker was erected by the Nancy Hanks Association in 1933. It is mounted on a stone pedestal. The postcard reverse is divided. A handwritten note in blue ink reads "This little marker sets where the cabin stood. I think there should be more to show where she was born. Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
