Description
This colored postcard features an illustration of the ruins of the Squire Bowling Green home where young Abraham Lincoln lived in an upper room at intervals from 1831-1837 when he lived in New Salem near Petersburg, Illinois. A flag with one stripe each of red, white, and blue is shown on a tall flagpole attached to one end of the cabin. A head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln cropped to an oval is in the upper right corner of the image. The caption is printed in red ink in the upper left corner.
