Description

This tinted postcard features a circular-cut, head and shoulders portrait of President Abraham Lincoln above the caption and a quotation regarding "A Sensible Way to Live" attributed to him. A thin-line red and a gold-colored border surround the portrait. The quotation below the portrait is anecdotal with no documentation that President Lincoln ever spoke the words. A green-ribbon border surrounds the image and quotation. The postcard reverse is divided. A drawing of the Springfield, Illinois, home of the Lincoln family is on the left side.
