Description

This color postcard is a reproduction of a painting by artist William Garl Brown in 1869 of Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, a Confederate general during the United States Civil War, 1861-1865. Based on an 1862 photograph, General Jackson is depicted seated facing slightly toward the viewer's left with his right arm on a table and holding a bayonet in his left hand. The postcard reverse is divided. Narrative text is printed in the upper left corner. The number SJH-5/16102847 is printed along the bottom edge near the middle.
