Description

This color postcard features the display of the mounted hide of "Little Sorrel" in the Virginia Military Institute Museum in Lexington, Virginia. General Jackson rode the horse throughout the Valley campaign and was astride him the night of May 2, 1863, when Jackson received his fatal wounds at Chancellorsville. The postcard reverse is divided. The caption and narrative text are printed on the left side. The number 90799-C is printed just below the stamp placement block.
