This color postcard features the reconstructed McLean House located at Appomattox, Virginia, where Confederate General Robert E. Lee surrendered to Union General Ulysses S. Grant on April 9, 1865. The house is part of the Appomattox court House National Historical Park in Virginia. The postcard reverse is divided. Brief narrative text is printed on the left side.
