Handwritten affidavit, 13 x 19 cm, signed by Ephraim Wilcox, John Close and C.R. Matheny, clerk of the circuit court: 'Eph. Wilcox & John Close jr. being sworn say that they attended five days as witnesses in this case. Sworn in court the 22nd April 1833.' Docketed on verso. Elijah Estep failed to pay Jacob Bale $36.62 1/2 on an account. Bale sued Estep in the Justice of the Peace court to recover the debt and the jury found for Bale. Estep appealed the judgment to the circuit court.
