Description:: Election ticket, 3 x 7 3/8 inches. Presidential election ticket listing candidates Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson, Republican presidential electors, and a congressional candidate. Illustrated at the top with an image of an eagle holding olive branches and arrows over a shield and three American flags with a banner reading "E Pluribus Unum" above; at the bottom with an American Flag with a Liberty Cap on the top of the pole; all printed in brown. Text reads: "Union Ticket. For President. Abraham Lincoln of Illinois For Vice President Andrew Johnson of Tennessee. For Presidential Electors Samuel Brannan of San Francisco J.G. McCallum [of] El Dorado Charles Maclay [of] Santa Clara William W. Carne [of] Alameda Warner Oliver [of] Siskiyou For Member of Congress First District Donald C. McRuer of San Francisco." On the verso, an illustration of the naval battle between the CSS Alabama and the USS Kearsarge; printed in black and blue.
