- Handwritten receipt, 17 x 20 cm, headed 'Hospital, 3rd Div. 23rd A.C., Wilmington, N.C., Mar 6th 1865. 'Rec'd of H.L. Reed 1st Lt. 104th Regt. O.V.I. for (13) thirteen days bound in Div. Hospt at .50 per day. Six & fifty one hundredth dollars.' Signed in a different hand by 'E.T. Coon, Hospital Steward.' On the verso is a brief diary with the dates of Saturday, [March] 25 through Monday where he [probably Reed] gives details of the condition of his wounds and his transport north on the steamer SR Spaulding as far as Morehead City.
