- Title supplied by cataloger.; Typewritten letter on pale green, "The White House, Washington" stationary," and signed (probably autopen) "Lyndon B. Johnson." Mr. McMurtry, director of the Lincoln National Life Foundation in Fort Wayne, Indiana, had written telling Johnson of the Lincoln National Foundation collections. He notes that with Lincoln's death centenary "we should all give special thought to the humane principles, more pertinent now than ever before, to which he dedicated his life and for which he died." Envelope is addressed to McMurtry "The Lincoln National Life Foundation, 1301 Harrison Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana."
