Description
This is a print that appeared in Vanity Fair. It features a man in a prison cell with shackles on his wrists and ankles. At his foot is a masonry tool that has "Treason" written on it. A copy of the Charleston Mercury newspaper is on a table to his right, atop which is a jar of bitters. Drawings on the cell wall depict stick figures labeles "Beauregard" and "Old Jeffy". The title appears in the lower margin. "Vanity Fair" is printed in the upper margin. "Stephen S." is written in the bottom proper left corner, and "Bobbet-Hooper. S.C." in the opposite corner.
