Description

This is a roll of 100 purple Abraham Lincoln 4-cent United States postage stamps. This Lincoln stamp was first issued in 1954 and is printed in a red-violet or purple colored ink. The design features a head and shoulders right profile portrait of President Abraham Lincoln with the name "Lincoln" printed just above his left shoulder. A transparent plastic is wrapped around the roll and sealed on top with the label. The likeness of Lincoln chosen for this stamp is from an oil painting by Douglas Volk, son of the famous sculptor, Leonard Volk.
