Description
This four-page pamphlet titled "A Lincoln Philatelic Souvenir, 1950" features on its second page the Statue of Freedom three-cent stamp commemorating the National Capitol Sesquicentennial anniversary. The stamp printed in shades of blue to blue green features a reproduction of Miss Liberty, the statue which stands on top of the Capitol Dome. The text beneath the statue reads "National Capital [sic] Sesquicentennial, 1800 Washington 1950." The page opposite the stamp describes the association of the stamp with Abraham Lincoln which is that he went to the Capitol to watch the head and shoulders of the statue being set in place. Text on page four of the pamphlet reads "Presented to the Lincoln Group of Boston by Richard F. Lufkin, May 1950, Boston, Massachusetts."
