Description

This oblong bronze-painted plaster plaque features a bas-relief right profile of President Abraham Lincoln in the center. At the top of the plaque an eagle with out-stretched wings holds a patriotic shield in its claws. Just below the shield is "100th Anniversary" in raised lettering. Inside the border and following the curved edges is the name "Abraham Lincoln" also in raised lettering. At the bottom of the plaque in relief is a banner with "Souvenir 1909" in raised lettering on it. Above the banner to the viewer's left is a small log cabin representing Lincoln's Kentucky birthplace cabin. Opposite and to the viewer's right is the partial facade of the White House. On the viewer's left of Lincoln's neck is his birthdate, 1809 in raised numerals. To the viewer's right of Lincoln's neck is the year of his inauguration as president of the United States, 1861, in raised numerals. The copyright information is engraved at the bottom on the flat edge of the plaque. On the reverse a round metal loop is embedded in the plaster for hanging.
