Description

The circular metal pin features Abraham Lincoln in three-quarter view on a white ground. Lincoln appears in black. This portrait is enclosed by a thin gold circular frame. Above and below this thin frame appears a dark frame with gold circles in its interior. On the left and right proper of this thin frame appears the beginning and end of the flag of the United States of America. On the proper right, white stars in a blue field are present and below this field interchanging horizontal red and white stripes appear. On the proper left, the horizontal red and white stripes continue. The representation of the flag of the United States of American extends over the ridge of the button. Above and below the dark frame with gold circles is a gold frame. On the bottom ridge of the button, there is print that reads "THE WHITEHEAD & HOAG CO. NEWARK, N.J.". Attached to the pin is a ribbon with vertical red, white, and blue stripes with silver print that reads "PYNEPOYNT A. A. July 4, 1927". The back features a vertically attached single metal needle used for pinning. The back of the button has print that reads " The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Buttons, Badges, Novelties, and Signs Newark, N.J." Between "Signs" and "Newark, N.J." there appears to be a company seal or insignia with print in extremely small font.
