Description

This is a piece of thick white cotton fabric printed with a portrait of Abraham Lincoln in the center. The portrait is rendered in varying shades of gray. Below Lincoln is an eagle with its wings spread out; a shield with stars and stripes sits in front of the eagle. Leaves splay from behind the eagle and extend up on either side of Lincoln. The entire image is surrounded by a black rectangular border with rounded corners. Under the box are the words "Abraham Lincoln" in black lettering. The words "Carquillat tex." and "Allardet del." are also printed below in small black lettering. Part of The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
