Description
Funeral ribbon for President Abraham Lincoln features a small sepia-toned photograph of the President with a beard and wearing a dark suit, bow tie, and white shirt. The image is encased in a gilt metal frame. The frame is mounted on a strip of red, white, and blue silk with embroidered white stars. A black and white silk bow is attached above the frame and a swatch of black crepe is attached below. A paper maker's label is adhered to the back which reads, "Made by S.A. Blake; 407 Broadway, New York." A typewritten note from the owner of the ribbon reads, "Worn by a guard that stood at attention through Albany-N.Y. on the funereal train."
