Description

One of five stamp collector's albums holding cardboard stock pages printed on one side with a light green grid and bound in a darker green leather cover with gilt trim and gilt edges on pages. Transparent sheets are interleaved with the printed pages. Some pages at the beginning of the album have a typed title at the top giving the year and the type of stamp pasted on the page. Some pages have explanatory text about the original art reproduced on the stamps . The first three pages in the album hold 19th century Lincoln stamps on the front with the Scott's catalog description for each stamp typed on the reverse. Most of the remainder of the album pages hold pre-printed envelopes and postal cards with various denominations of Lincoln stamps, some cacheted envelopes, and first day covers all ranging from the early 1900s through 1986. Some are laid inbetween album pages without being attached. A souvenir envelope from the International Stamp Show in Chicago, Illinois, in 1986 is laid between pages and contains a commemorative stamp series titled "Presidents of the United States" beginning with George Washington, and ending with Lyndon B. Johnson. The last page of the album is a horizontally slotted page holding two pre-canceled first day of issue postal cards postmarked in Hodgenville, Kentucky, and several precanceled 5-cent postal cards.
