Description

Ribbon features one brown vertical stripe and one yellow vertical stripe with a small metal shoe sole placed in its center. Attached to the ribbon by two metal rings is a circular medallion. This medallion features a low relief of Abraham Lincoln in profile. On the proper right, relief print reads "Abraham" and on the proper left, relief print reads "Lincoln". Beneath the Lincoln profile, relief print reads "Born Feb. 12th, 1809." The medallion has a slightly raised edge also. The back features a metal safety pin closure mechanism used for pinning which is attached to the ribbon. Engraved print is present on this mechanism that reads "W. & H. Co. Pat. Appl'd For". The relief print on the back of the medallion reads "SCOUT Walked in Lincoln's Steps". Near the bottom edge of the medallion,relief print reads "Whitehead-Hoag".
