Description

This copper badge is made up of two medals connected with small links of chain. The top medallion features a shield with a Native American depicted wearing a headdress and holding a bow and arrow. Below the shield is rectangle with the word "Massachusetts" embossed on it. The rim above the shield is embossed with "50th Anniversary--Battle of Gettysburg." The dates 1863 and 1913 are embossed on either side of the shield. A secure pin is attached to the reverse for attaching to clothing. The second medal features a right-profile bust of President Abraham Lincoln in the center. A border around the bust has the embossed text "Reunion of Veterans of the Civil War" and "Gettysburg, Pa. 1913." Five swallow-tail projections evenly spaced extend outward from the center, Part of a gold-colored laurel wreath shows between the swallow-tail pieces.
