Description

This print is a playbill for the September 27th, 1858, performances at McVicker's Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. The playbill lists the casts of the tragic play "Love's Sacrifice, or the Rival Merchants" and the farce "An Object of Interest" both to be performed the same night. The prices of admission are listed at the bottom of the playbill. Edwin Booth, brother of assassin John Wilkes Booth, starred in A New Way to Pay Old Debts on May 31, 1858, and later married one of McVicker's daughters in 1869.
