Description

Circular pin features Abraham Lincoln on the proper right in three quarter view. On the proper left, there is a representation of the flag of the United States of America within a shield. Below this shield appears an illustration of what might be a cluster of arrows and a bushel of grain arranged in an "X". Above and below these illustrations, print is present. Above, print reads "Abraham Lincoln 1809-1959". Below, print reads "Sesquicentennial". Just above "Sesquicentennial" appears an illustration of a ribbon with print in its interior that reads "Lincoln, Symbol of the Free Man". Along the bottom ridge, there is print that reads "Buttons by Emress Specialty Co. 916 Bway., N.Y. 3., N.Y." The back features a single metal needle for pinning. There is also an emblem or insignia impressed in the metal back. The emblem is ovular in shape with a circle placed in the center. Within this central circle, there are three objects intersecting one another. On either side of the central circle, raised print reads "Union" on the proper right and "Label" on the proper left. Below this emblem, raised print reads "Local 119 or 117". Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
