Description

Circular pin features images of Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt enclosed in ovular gold frames. The gold frames are seen side by side. On the proper left, Lincoln appears in three quarter view and on the proper right, Roosevelt appears in frontal view. In the space above the two frames, there are floral scrolls and a shield. The interior of the gold framed shield features a representation of the flag of the United States of America. The bottom of the ovular frames also have floral scrolls. Below the scrolls, black print is present that reads "The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, N.J.". The back features a single metal needle for pinning. An inserted paper with black print and an emblem is also present. The emblem is ovular with pointed ends and is bisected by framed print that reads "Trades Council Union Label". Above and below, there are also frames with print. The above print reads "Allied Printing" and below print reads "Newark". On the proper left point of the emblem, the number "3" is present. Directly below the emblem, there is print that reads "Buttons made by The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, N.J., C.S.A. Pat. April 14, 1896, July 21, 1896." There are also remnants of frayed fabric.
