Description

This cacheted cover commemorates the centennial anniversary of Mason County, Illinois, on January 20, 1941. The cachet printed in green and yellow ink features the outline of the county with illustrations of the Court House at Havana and the Ruggles House at Bath inside. An illustrated portrait of Abraham Lincoln is also part of the cachet. The envelope was postmarked at the Bath, Illinois, post office on January 20, 1941. The envelope is addressed to Lincoln Nat'l LIfe Foundation, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tucked inside of the envelope is a folder titled Abraham Lincoln and Mason County with text by Theodore S.
