Description

Round brass 1860 campaign ferrotype features a centered tintype portrait of J.C. Breckinridge, the Southern Democratic Party presidential candidate, who wears a dark jacket, bow tie, and white shirt. The portrait is surrounded by raised braided trim. The subject's name, date, and chains of roses are embossed around the frame. Raised braided trim encircles the button. The top is pierced with a hole. The reverse is identical except it features a tintype portrait of Joseph Lane. His name, the date, and chains of roses are embossed around the frame.
