Description
Rectangular frame encloses a log cabin illustrated in medium relief with an ovular framed bust of Abraham Lincoln shown in three-quarters view in its interior. A stump with a maul leaned against it and a log, with a wedge and an axe embedded are below the bust. "The Rail Splitter" is carved across the bottom. There is a metal hook used for hanging the plaque on the back. "W.H. Darby McDowell, VA" is stamped twice on the back in black. There is also handwriting that reads "PS 59".
