Description

This woven red, white, and blue bookmark features a patriotic shield at the top with an oval-framed portrait of President Abraham Lincoln in the center. His name is above the shield with his birth and death dates just below the shield. A quotation from President Lincoln's Gettysburg Address follows. Below the quotation is a cannon with a pyramid of cannon balls and the text "Civil War Centennial, 1961-1965." Clear plastic backs the bookmark to protect the threads. A decorative blue rope with tassel is threaded through a hole in the top of the plastic Part of the Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection, courtesy of the Indiana State Museum
