Description
This 32.5 mm silver half-dollar coin features on the obverse a left profile bust of Liberty with her hair flowing to her shoulders surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original thirteen colonies of the United States. The date 1824 is inscribed below the image. The reverse features a patriotic eagle with a banner reading "E Pluribus Unum" above. "United States of America" is inscribed following the arc of the edge of the coin. "50 C." is inscribed below the image. The words "Fifty Cents or Half a Dollar" are engraved in the edge of the coin.
