Description

This folder contains forty-four cacheted envelopes stamped and postmarked commemorating Lincoln-related events or places. The earliest postmark in the group is 1933 and the latest is 1971. Each envelope has an illustration on the left side with a postmark near the middle and a canceled stamp in the top right corner. Some of the events commemorated in the illustrations are the Illinois Sesquicentennial, the Indiana Sesquicentennial, the dedication of New Salem State Park in Illinois, the restoration of Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.
