Description
This is a group of miscellaneous philatelic items including three loose Lincoln stamps; a postal card; five "First Day of Issue" souvenir sheets with Lincoln or Lincoln related stamps; a "First Day of Issue" cacheted cover commemorating Stephen Collins Foster and an accompanying letter; a facsimile of Lincoln's handwritten Gettysburg Address with a Gettysburg five-cent stamp, a "First Day of Issue" cancellation, and a Gettysburg July 1, 1963, postmark at the end. Also included in the folder is a reproduction of a calligraphic print of Lincoln's Proclamation of Emancipation with a commemorative five-cent Emancipation Proclamation stamp with a "First Day of Issue" cancellation in the lower left corner. The next seven items are souvenir sheets or folders with Lincoln stamps attached or included. Additional items are three stamp collector's pages commemorating the anniversaries of the abolition of slavery and the completion of the transcontinental railroad, an aerogramme commemorating Montgomery Blair, a President Kennedy and Family souvenir sheet with a Port Washington postmark in the lower left corner, and a cacheted cover commemorating President Lincoln as the founder of Port Angeles, Washington.
