Description

This color poster promotes actor George Billings (1870-1934) playing United States President Abraham Lincoln at the Criterion Theater, 7th and Grand Streets, Los Angeles, California, sometime in the 1920s. The poster features a fake right-profile photograph purported to be "Abraham Lincoln as he really was" compared to a head and shoulders portrait of George Billings as Abraham Lincoln. The poster also promotes the Sea Hawk Quartette and Al & Ray Rockett's "first national triumph" with George Billings himself in the prologue directed by Phil Rosen.
