Description

This cacheted cover commemorates the centennial anniversary of Woodford County, Illinois, on February 17, 1941. The cachet printed in blue and silver-colored ink features the outline of the county with the seal of Woodford County and an illustration of the Court House at Metamora inside. An illustrated portrait of Abraham Lincoln 8is also part of the cachet. The envelope was postmarked at the Metamora post office on February 17, 1941, at 8 AM. The envelope is addressed to Lincoln Nat'l LIfe Foundation, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Tucked inside of the envelope is a folder titled Abraham Lincoln and Woodford County with text by Theodore S.
